Travelway started with a simple idea: a small fleet of premium European motorhomes, maintained to a standard most hire companies don't bother with, offered with the kind of personal service you can only get from an owner-operated business.
Every vehicle in the fleet is personally chosen, personally maintained, and handed over by Nico himself. There's no head office, no call centre, and no anonymous rental counter. When you book with Travelway, you're dealing with the person who owns and maintains the motorhome you'll be driving.
We're based in Auckland with pickup available in Papakura — and one-way hires to or from Christchurch for those who want to travel the full length of the country.

Proper maintenance
Every motorhome is serviced and checked between every hire. Not just a clean — a proper check. Tyres, fluids, lights, appliances, water systems. If something isn’t right, we fix it before you pick up.
Personal handover
You don’t get handed a checklist and shown the door. Nico walks you through the vehicle in person — how everything works, what to watch for, and what to do if something comes up. You leave knowing the motorhome.
24/7 real support
If something happens on the road, you call a number and a real person answers. Not a call centre. Not an automated system. Nationwide roadside assistance is included — you’re looked after for the entire hire.
Fully equipped
Every hire comes with bedding, towels, a full kitchen kit, and everything on the inventory list. You turn up with your bags and go. There’s nothing to source separately or add on just to make the van liveable.
400W solar, off-grid ready
All motorhomes are fitted with 400W solar panels and lithium battery systems, making them genuinely capable of extended off-grid travel. Freedom camping isn’t a bonus — it’s built in.
One-way hires available
Start in Auckland, finish in Christchurch — or the reverse. One-way hires are a great way to cover the full length of New Zealand without doubling back. Ask when you enquire and we’ll include it in your quote.
